A Cadence Creek Christmas (Harlequin Romance)

A Cadence Creek Christmas - Donna Alward Taylor has come back to town to help with her bother's wedding. What she doesn't expect is a run in to Rhys. He things Taylor will run back to the city life after the wedding is over. They are both attracted to each other but Rhys is not very trusting. They start a romance that neither one was expecting to last. When Taylor does leave will Rhys go after her or will Taylor come back on her own?

The author does a great job with the characters when Taylor is shut out of the rehearsal dinner and cleans up etc Rhys notices what happens and wants to take care of her. He sees more that goes on than anyone else. The characters pop and you find yourself rooting both of them on.

I love this series and will continue to read them. Thanks to NetGalley for the book to read for an honest review.

The Cowgirl Ropes a Billionaire (Cowboys of Chance Creek) (Volume 4)

The Cowgirl Ropes a Billionaire - Cora Seton This is book 4 of the Cowboys of Chance Creek series. I have read them all and they get better as each title comes about.
Bella is the Veteran of Chance Creek she takes care of the pets the town folks love, cats, dogs etc. She is running out of money to help take care of the shelter. She hasn’t asked anyone for help as she is afraid to. Her helper Heather has entered her into a contest where she could win Ten billion dollars. Evan is the owner of Mortimer Innovations. He needs a wife for a year to keep the company for himself or his little brother gets to take over. With nothing left he gets his secretary to get him on the show.

Bella and Evan face off on the contest for 5 days. Neither one wanting to lose or lose their hearts to each other. During the contest they encounter some secrets they both share and some tender moments. The author did a wonderful job with the character development. You would feel the tension between the characters and the hint of love.

I enjoy reading this series and look forward to the next one.

Go Global: Building an International Author Platform That Sells

Go Global: Building an International Author Platform That Sells - Barb Drozdowich A great book to help authors with their platforms. Nice to have a book that has the in's and out's and easy to read.

Getting Rowdy

Getting Rowdy - Lori Foster
If you have not read the first two books you might want to do that. We meet Rowdy in the first book which is Pepper's brother. IN the second book we see where Rowdy is flirting with Avery quite well I might add. She is working in the bar he owns.

Rowdy has spent most of his time running from the worse people anyone could imagine. All he wants is good sex and as you might guess a lot of it. But with Avery he can picture more then just a few nights of sex. He knows Avery is hiding something and he must find out what.

Different things take place and a lot of us to get involved in.

I enjoyed the story. Lori's writing takes a reader in from the first page until the last. She has everything for everyone to enjoy, suspense, secrets, love, and more.

I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a good suspense romance.

Downtown Cowboy

Downtown Cowboy - Jean Blasiar A remarkable read by Jean Blasiar. The boys and I love her Emmy Budd series and when this book arrived to us we were excited to try a new book.

Brady is a unique young man. He likes to go to the dump to see what comes from Uptown. When he finds a diary by Robert Stevens he sets off to look for the boy and lend him some help. Brady got lucky when he found the house the maid thought he was there looking for the job to help the gardener. The next day Brady gave the book to Roberts mother who was not too keen on Brady and at first did not believe his story. She let him stay to swim with Robert and he saw his diary sitting beside Brady. He asked if Brady read it and he said he did but only he did not have a step father he hated. He knew Robert could use a friend.

Brady found out some of the diary was not true Robert pretended to he had a bad step father so it would explain why he had no friends. They come up with an idea for a party to help gain Robert some friends as he explained he was not in the clique. Will the party help and what about the downtown, uptown relationship?

The story was a wonderful read. It's nice to see people not judge and get to know the "real" person behind where they come from. Brady meets a lot of interesting kids and vice versa. The characters pop out of the page and draw you into the story. It's heartwarming to read such an amazing story and one that can help other kids understand differences.

Merry Humbug Christmas: Two Tales of Holiday Romance

Merry Humbug Christmas: Two Tales of Holiday Romance - Sandra D. Bricker My thoughts:

Joss can not stand Christmas. Usually her best friend Reese ( yes just like the buttercup chocolate ) go somewhere to get away from the holidays. This year is not the case. Reese is engaged and is spending time with his family while Joss goes on a anti Christmas cruise. To poor Joss the cruise has been cancelled and she is put on a different ship one that loves Christmas. She is in luck with Patrick a nice handsom Irishman. He might be able to save the day and have Joss love Christmas again.

Reese she should have went with Joss on the cruise might have save her some trouble. First the deer then meeting her in-laws to set their cabin on fire. It's no wonder she might be loosing Damian after they just got engaged. The story is great and you learn much more about the girls in each story.

The authors did a wonderful job and I will be reading this again and not just near the holidays.

The Cowboy's Christmas Courtship (Love Inspired)

The Cowboy's Christmas Courtship - Brenda Minton My thoughts:

Layla has been trying to hold her family together and the farm. Her bother is a handful but she won't take any help from anyone. She wants to hold on to her pride. When Gage comes home and they see each other for the first time since school they both feel an electric shock. Gage was seeing her as a great person and Layla just wants to be left alone. To her astonishment Gage can get through to her brother and is making a difference. Can she put her views and thoughts aside and see where things can go?

I enjoyed the story. I wanted to see if Layla and Gage could get their act together and make things better for them both. I would like to read another book by this author.

The Sugar Cookie Sweetheart Swap

The Sugar Cookie Sweetheart Swap - Donna Kauffman, Kate Angell, Kimberly Kincaid My thoughts:

I will talk about each story....

Where There's Smoke by Donna Kauffman

Clara is looking for a book at the library when she runs into an old friend, Will. Will is shocked to see Clara and vice versa. Clara is happy at how Will has turned out and Will is happy to have Clara back in his life. He doesn't want to let her go this time. Back in college he never could get up enough courage to tell her how he felt about her. Clara liked the firefighter and was happy to have him back. A great story that you would want to read again and again.

The Gingerbread Man by Kate Angell

She is shocked to learn who helped her get the wish and what happens after.
I loved this short story it was another one I would love to read again and again.

Sugar And Spice Kimberly Kincaid

I was looking forward to reading this particular story as it is Kimberly's.

Pete was a charmer and wanted to charm the pants off of Lilly. He doesn't care about winning the money he has other plans and wants Lilly. Another cute story.

THE LIGHTHOUSE BRIDES COLLECTION

The Netherlands And Northern Belgium, A Selective Bibliography Of Reference Works - Margrit B Krewson My thoughts:

A great collection for stories and lighthouses. I enjoyed all the stories they were remarkably well done. I can not pinpoint one I like over the others as I loved them all. We knew woman could be lighthouse keepers too back in the day and find romance. That was the best part about some of these stories. Women had a more active role than just sitting back and having the men take care of them.

Plantation Christmas Weddings: Four-in-One Romance Collection (Romancing America)

Ubiistvo Stalina I Beriia: Nauchno Istoricheskoe Rassledovanie (Rekonstruktsiia Epokhi) (Russian Edition) - IUrii Mukhin This book has 4 wonderful stories that will draw any reader in and hold them until the very end. I didn't have a favorite over any of the others as I enjoyed each one. Everyone deserves a second chance mo matter what the situation. As long as people can work it out. When she meets her daughter feature father in law he tries his best to get her to look at all of them as her new family when she sees him as a hunk of a man but not sure what to do with him. As she and Billy are trying to have a relationship they also have to solve thus murder with the chief's help or not so much help.
