I loved this story and was happy to read it. Jacqueline who goes by the name of Jack to everyone but her mom, is a reporter for the local paper. Her dream is to get the "big" story and get a job as a reporter in Dallas. When Noah Jeffers arrive in town to fill in for the preacher, all heads turn. Jack and Noah have a strange relationship starting and Jack knows there is a big story hidden within Noah. Little does she know how close she is.
Carly has to return to Lookout and stay with here friend at the boarding house where Jack lives and her mom owns. She is an ex convict trying to fit back in the town where all her troubles started. Garett is looking for a wife but not one that has been in jail. He is the one that goes to pick her up and bring her town he starts to see her in a new light when she fends off 2 robbers.
I enjoyed this story as the author does a wonderful job writing about her characters. They all pop out and you want to know more about each one. You can tell she has done some research about the life in times in the book. It makes you feel you are in Texas in a small town.
The book also has some humor which makes the book stand out. I was laughing out loud one minute and wishing the characters would open up their eyes the next. It keeps you on your toes to figure out what is going on.
The only draw back I had was in the middle if not a bit sooner of the book I knew who was behind all the trouble. Other then that I was very pleased with the read.
