This has to be one of the best drama/chick lit books out there right now. The author has done a wonderful job of making the characters seem so real, and the situations we all can relate too or have seen. I have cried, laughed, got angry with some of the characters for the way things were going, to happiness. Kris is a single mom who's lover died in Vietnam. She raises her daughter, and has to over come prejudice, stereo typing and more. Her family disowns her since the baby is black. All she has is one uncle and a friend who try and help. The ending brought closure to a lot of things. One remarkable book and a must read.
