Babs Book Bistro

Sunny moves away from her parents at 29 to try and start her own life and business. She arrives in Divinity to her victorian home she calls Vicky. The home is said to be haunted and Sunny got a great deal on the place. She also found a strange cat whom she calls Morty. She gets her room all situated and in comes her first customer, the local town librarian. She is scared of something or someone and wants to know her fate. Sunny tries to calm her down after she reads the tea leaves for Amanda. Sunny sees the vision of what is going to happen and an hour later calls the police to tell them what is going to happen. Little does Sunny know, when the hot Detective Mitch Stone arrives at her house the librarian is already dead and they suspect her of the killing.
I absolutely loved this book. Kari is by fair a very talented author. Sunny is my favorite character. Between her crazy parents who are uptight and don’t believe in her abilities to the ever hot Mitch stone; Sunny has her job cut out for her. Her mom is a lawyer and her father a doctor. She cringes when they come to town and I can understand why. They try and control Kari’s life and at one point we have all been there. It is easy to relate to Sunny.
The banter between Sunny and Mitch is a riot. Who thought grump old pants would come out of Sunny’s mouth and it gets funnier as the book goes along. There was a lot of laughing through out this whole book and with it mixed with mystery, you couldn’t ask for anything better. I am already looking forward to the 2nd book in this delightful series. I can not say enough great things about this debut novel. It is defiantly a must read.
